Background of Warragamba

Located 65 kilometres west of Sydney (NSW, Australia) is the township of Warragamba. Warragamba was built as a construction town for

the building of Warragamba Dam. During construction the population of Warragamba peaked at around 3500 people. The township was

built mainly from prefabricated homes as well a barracks for the single men and women. 1800 men from 25 different countries worked

alongside one another to build the Dam. Unlike many construction towns which vanished overnight after the completion of the work,

Warragamba remained a close knit community with great pride in the Dam.

We welcome everyone to our town, to enjoy our country atmosphere, and also to see the Mighty Warragamba Dam.

WARRAGAMBA TOUCH FOOTBALL COMPETITION - Mens, Womens, Mixed and Junior Competitions - Teams and Individuals Welcome! Venue - Warragamba Football (RL) Oval, Competition starts 10th September, Registration at the football oval - Wednesday 30th July and August 6th, 13th & 20th from 6.30 to 8.00pm. Costs are $65 per player for seniors & $50 per player junior competition. CONTACT Brian 0418 447 164 for more information. Competition categories depends on player numbers. TOUCH FOOTBALL IS A MINIMAL CONTACT SPORT PLAYED BY ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS.
